Catechists - Resources

Web Sites for Catechists (September 2011)

Finding God from Loyola Press
This is the site for our textbook series for grades PreK-5, Finding God, from Loyola Press, and it is excellent. The site can create a personal profile for you and will suggest articles of interest to catechists/parents, etc. There is a section for lesson planning, additional options/activities for each lesson, many resources and a link to a bulletin board on which you can share ideas with catechists from around the country who are using Finding God. Included on the site is a daily three-minute retreat with music and video components.

Saint Mary's Press
The website for St. Mary's Press, publisher of vast resources for young adolescents and teens, and the publisher of our current texts for grades 6-8. The site offers some "free" resources, such as prayer services by teens, background articles on various topics, activities to enrich lessons, etc. Also, this website now has FREE access to online glossaries and dictionaries: Glossary of Theological Terms, Essential Bible Dictionary, Terms & Definitions from Catholic Quick View. Additional materials for catechists teaching from The Catholic Connection Handbook are available from this site.
