Welcome to Ms.
Jennings' Third Grade

My name is Marianne Jennings and this is my fourth year of teaching
at Ss. Faith, Hope and Charity. I graduated from Saint Mary’s
College at Notre Dame in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education
and a minor in Math. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher,
and I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic school.
I currently teach the following subjects to my homeroom: Reading,
Spelling, Math, Language Arts, Writing, Religion, and Phonics. In
addition I teach Science to both third grade classes, while my partner
covers Social Studies.
The focus in our classroom is differentiated learning. Simply
put, I realize that every student is an individual and learns differently.
My goal is to differentiate my teaching to fit the multiple learning
styles of your children. These learning styles or multiple intelligences
include visual, audio, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal,
and naturalist learning styles. I take pride in creating a productive
learning environment that is conducive to reaching each of these
multiple intelligences. This is done through a variety of teaching
techniques and assessments. Therefore, not every assessment given
will be through the traditional paper and pencil test. I believe
that a variety of assessments, including various projects, experiments,
discussions, dramatizations, journals, and reflections, will enable
each child the opportunity to use their intelligences effectively.
In this way, every child will have the chance to achieve success
and to be more confident about his/her work at school.
Please check my website regularly for upcoming projects and events
in the third grade. I look forward to any feedback or suggestions
you have for the website or beyond.
