Welcome to Miss Snyder's Fifth Grade

My name is Emily Snyder, and I couldn’t be more excited about beginning my second year at Faith, Hope and Charity. Originally from Minnesota, I went to The Convent of the Visitation for middle and high school. I left the land of ten thousand lakes to attend school at Northwestern University, where I earned a B.A. in history. After college I worked on the account side of advertising before returning to DePaul to begin their M.Ed. program. I student taught in a fifth grade class in Chicago and spent all of last year substitute teaching in Evanston/Skokie District 65. This year I will be teaching all fifth grade subjects along with Carol Ruskopf, who will be in our classroom on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. My goal is to create a positive learning environment that fosters the academic, social and emotional development of each child. I plan to incorporate project-based learning into every subject in addition to varying my instruction to meet the needs of all students. This is going to be a wonderful year in the fifth grade!
