Welcome to Mrs.
Carollo's Eighth Grade

Hello, I am Barbara Carollo and I am delighted to
be teaching at the School of Saints Faith, Hope and Charity. I love
the name of this school. I remember wearing a bracelet as a child
with the charms that symbolize Faith, Hope and Charity and thinking
it was the most beautiful jewelry any girl could own. In the past
few weeks I have found that this faith community is also a ‘beautiful
jewel.’
Fresh out of college, I began teaching first grade in the Chicago
Archdiocese. I remained in that position for five years. I took
time off from teaching until my children were in school, and then
relished the opportunity to be active in their education. Eventually,
I returned to full time teaching, spending a few years in the public
schools and then returning to catholic education in the western
suburbs. I enjoyed 10 years in second grade and then moved outside
”my box” to teach computer skills, algebra, junior high
religion and do whatever else was needed for the next 7 years. Algebra
had been the favorite part of my day and the opportunity to concentrate
on math at Faith Hope is exhilarating. I share the concerns about
math education in America today. I will do my utmost to help your
child experience success, remove anxiety and enjoy meeting the challenges
of algebra and pre-algebra.
I hold degrees from Mundelein College of Loyola University and
DeVry University. I love teaching. I believe chocolate is the cure
to most of what ails me. I look forward to meeting you and working
with you for the children we hold so dear. I promise to give my
best to the students of Saints Faith, Hope and Charity. God bless! |
