Rosary with Elizabeth Ministry
Beside the regular schedule for the Rosary at FHC (see Parish / Liturgy Schedule and Prayer Services for more details), Elizabeth Ministry offers the opportunity to anyone to pray the rosary in Church every Tuesday morning after the 8 am Mass.
The Elizabeth Ministry and more (men, women and children) gather in the "cry room" to pray together - everyone is welcome. |
Mission: "Following the example of Mary and Elizabeth, in response to the needs of women during their childbearing years, we visit and share the sacredness of life with parishioners of Saints Faith, Hope and Charity Parish Community"
Elizabeth Ministry is an outreach by the parish community to women during the childbearing years. The purpose of this ministry is to affirm, support, encourage and assist women and their families by providing a direct response to their specific needs. An Elizabeth Minister offers a link between the broader church community and the families of the parish.
“Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth……….Mary stayed with her some three months and then went home.” (Luke 1: 39-56). Thus began "Elizabeth Ministry".
Even though Elizabeth Ministry is a relatively new ‘official’ ministry in the Church, it actually began with Mary’s ‘Visitation’ - a newly pregnant Mary proceeds with haste to visit and assist her pregnant cousin Elizabeth. This is Elizabeth Ministry - an outreach by women of the parish to women of child bearing years…… to assist, affirm, support, encourage and celebrate both the physical and spiritual joys and sorrows of these years. And we pray - the Ministry is rooted in prayer - simple daily prayer and weekly group rosary.
