Ecumenical Outreach
Interfaith Council
Providing affordable housing for those in need.
Pastoral Care
Bereavement Ministry
Offers comfort and assistance to our parish families following
the death of a loved one.
Ministers of Care
Distribute Communion to the sick, at home, in local hospitals and nursing
homes.
Volunteer Opportunities
Beyond Beads
Using beads as a practical tool, this group:
· Instructs others for personal enjoyment, service or gifting
· Provides "memory bracelets" for moms and their lost
babies in coordination with Stroger Hospital
Blood Drive
Saints Faith, Hope and Charity Parish sponsors a blood drive
every year which is conducted by LifeSource.
Good News Community Soup Kitchen
An alliance of thirty participating North Shore congregations which
provide and serve a nutritious meal to the needy patrons of the kitchen
located in Rogers Park. FHC's day is the 2nd Thursday of every month.
An annual fundraiser is held in the fall.
Sharing Committee Activities
The goal is to minister to the poor and needy of the Chicago
area. The many activities of our sharing committee include:
· Food Sharing Sunday (third Sunday of every month) - Collect
and deliver grocery goods to four food pantries.
· Organize Harvest Day family festival (October) benefiting Children
of Peace School.
· Conduct clothing and book drives during holiday season.
· Implement Project Turkey ($10 contribution) for needy families
at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
· Plan the Christmas Adopt-A-Family and Giving Tree programs,
Tuition Angels for Children of Peace School and Epiphany sweater collection
during the holiday season.
· Collect Easter Baby Bags for new moms.
· Participate in the National Day of Service, a "Rebuilding
Together" project, with Faith, Hope and Carpenters. This spring
project repairs a home of a needy local resident.
" Soup Group" at Saint Stanislaus Kostka
Volunteers from Faith, Hope and Charity assist in serving lunch at Saint
Stanislaus located on West Division at the Kennedy Expressway. They
help on Tuesdays and Fridays of the second and fourth week of every
month from 10:30 am to 1:15 pm.
Social Concerns
Catholic Campaign for Human Development
An annual appeal to support over twenty organizations that
address the root causes of poverty, such as decreasing youth violence
and increasing access to affordable housing.
Respect Life
Inform and educate on issues regarding abortion, euthanasia, capital
punishment and the value of human life in all its forms and conditions.
Winnetka Interfaith Council (WIC)
Provides opportunities for interfaith communication, program sharing,
activities of common interest and furthering of relationships among
clergy and laity. Membership includes eleven houses of worship and the
Samaritan Counseling Center. WIC's tradition continues today to explore
interfaith issues, challenges and opportunities.
