Second Graders preparing for First Communion
baked bread to share with those less fortunate

Bread and its nourishing qualities are a central focus of the children’s preparation for First Communion.

The children discovered that Jesus nourishes our Spirit through the Eucharist just as bread nourishes our bodies. The homeless and less fortunate who are served by local soup kitchens need to be nourished, and the
children “shared Jesus’ love” by baking loaves of bread to be given to the soup kitchens.

They also designed bright and cheerful lunch bags for the bread.
