Youth Ministry
Our Mission
The youth ministry program, MATRIX, at Saints Faith, Hope & Charity commits themselves to creating spiritual leaders in the church. Our mission is to bridge the gap between all teenagers to form one community where all teens are welcomed, accepted and loved. Our group offers weekly opportunities for teens to build a relationship with themselves and other, leading to a relationship with Christ. Our goal is to allow every teenager to become leaders in the church through words, action and relationship.
MATRIX (Moments Around Teens Rejoicing In Christ)
This youth ministry group began in the early 90s when a small group of teenagers gathered for mass with Fr. Phil Cyson in the basement of the church rectory. Shortly after, Fr. Jeff Grob continued the small gatherings of teens and they chose the name MATRIX for the group.
MATRIX continues to meet Sundays at 4pm in the Msgr. Lyons room, with most members attending the 5pm mass together. While munching on homemade snacks, meeting topics rotate through a focus on spirituality, self, social and service. Meetings are open to ALL high schoolers.

Kairos
This retreat in an intense once in a lifetime opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school. It is presented by, for and with high school students. It is an opportunity to break away from the regular daily routine and examine the workings of God in your life.
We know that Kairos is discussed a lot at schools and socially, and there are many rumors and judgements out there about who we are and how we are. Let us start by saying...we are regular people - just like you! We simply realized, after a weekend of reflection free from distractions and time, that certain things are very important to us. It was a gift for us to have this experience and now we want to share that gift with others.
At Kairos, everyone is accepted for exactly who they are. You'll hear stories, listen to music, have time to yourself - you'll even dance... If you can get past the rumors, you'll discover an experience that will uplift and inspire you. You don't know much about it now because, as with any gift, we want it to be a surprise. So don't be discouraged by friends that don't fill in the blanks, or answer every one of your questions as requested. They care enough to want you to be surprised!
Kairos retreats are held in December and April each year. Interest in Kairos is EXTREMELY HIGH. Sign-up is conducted by Call-in. On the scheduled Call-In date, it is best to call as soon as possible! Spaced fill up almost immediately. The best advice we can give is keep calling, keep calling, keep calling...The lines will be busy, you will have wait time, but if you want to attend the retreat you must speak with someone who can add you to the Call-In List or Wait List if needed.
